Another brand new collection from Models Own was announced on Friday - the Disco Pants Collection, which comes hot on the heels of the Models Own Diamond Luxe Collection, released last month. There are five brighter-than-bright shades in the Disco Pants Collection - Sound Factory* (blue), Paradise Grange* (green), Studio 54* (pink), Copacabana* (gold) and Roxy* (purple) - all inspired by famous New York nightclubs which had their heyday in the 80s era of disco pants, leg warmers and massive hair. Three have a creamy pearlescent finish and two have an ultra-fine glitter in them (which - yay - is not hard to remove like normal glitter polish).
Copacabana, Paradise Grange and Roxy
Roxy, Studio 54 and Sound Factory
Copacabana
Copacabana is "a shimmering golden topaz" - I'd say it was a very pale gold pearl with a metallic satin finish. At first I wasn't a fan when I just tried it on one finger, but when it's on all of them it's beautiful. Reflecting the light, it'll be a great polish for Christmas parties. Formula is good, with the photos above showing just two coats (no top coat).
Studio 54
Studio 54 is a "pretty pink diamond" - super bright and also with a pearl slightly metallic finish this polish really pops on an almost neon level. I thought it was a bit too bright - and so very 80s - for my tastes, but to my surprise it actually doesn't look nearly as tacky as I thought it would and I've chosen to wear it to start my week off with a bang! Photos show two coats without top coat.
Paradise Garage
Paradise Garage is a "mesmerising emerald green" - and wow what an emerald green it is. It's the last pearlescent metallic satin finish polish in the collection and it is a real stunner. Very bright, very 80s. It hardly needed two coats the coverage was so good.
Roxy
Roxy is a "majestic purple amethyst" and is hands down my absolute favourite polish of the collection. I love this. It has a really fine pink/orange/purple glitter in it which is so beautiful when the particles catch the light and doesn't scream "I'm a glitter polish". It's not got a rough finish like a lot of glitter polishes and is really easy to remove. The photos show two coats, lovely coverage.
Sound Factory
Sound Factory is a "deep sapphire blue" and, like Roxy, has ultra-fine shimmery blue glitter in it. Although blue is my favourite colour, I don't wear it on my nails that much - it's definitely a fun electric blue though and with Christmas coming up would be a great base for some white snowflakes over the top. Photos show two coats, no top coat.
Overall I am much more excited by the Disco Pants Collection now I've played with them than I was when I first saw them - my picks would be Roxy, Copacabana and Studio 54.

I still haven't a chance to try any of the new Models Own polishes and now I'm stuck between getting the green from the Diamond Luxe collection of Paradise Grange from the Disco Pants collection...decisions, decisions LOL Great swatches as always :-)
ReplyDeleteThe green from the Diamond Luxe collection is to die for!
DeleteThese are beautiful swatches Madison. I prefer this collection to their previous two releases that I wasn't keen on at all, but the one that really stands out to me here is Paradise Grange and I think I'll be picking that one up x

These are all beautiful, however I'm obsessed with pink so it's got to be Studio 54 for me xx
ReplyDeleteI have Sound Factory and Roxy and they are simply beautiful! I never experienced any staining from SF, but so far have only swatches it. I will keep that in mind when I wear it as a full manicure! Great swatches as always :)
