This summer Boots No 7 have brought out four special edition colours to add to their Gel Look Shine nail polish collection. There are four summery brights in the line up: Mint Treat* (green), Lemon Drop* (yellow), Orange Spice (orange) and Summer Holiday (pinky coral).
I haven't used many No 7 nail polishes in the past, but when I have they've given good coverage and a lovely high shine - these are no exception in the shine department, but coverage could be a bit better - for the yellow I had to use three coats and for the green I used two, but you can still see from the photos that it probably needed a third. Drying time is quick so doing three coats isn't too much of a problem (but I know for some people it would be a faff).
Lemon Drop* is a pale lemon yellow creme polish - a really pretty shade of yellow for summer.
Mint Treat* isn't really what I would call a mint green. It's a bit more jade turqouise - less similar to Essie's Mint Candy Apple than it is to Essie In the Cab-ana (one of my favourite summer shades of all time). I just love this colour and could stare at it all day!
These colours work well together for nail art so I did a very quick chevron mani - you could use scotch tape to mask off the chevrons, but I'm lazy so I used Nail Vinyls but if you're UK based, She Sells Sea Shells also sells them - both are seriously easy to use (just make sure that your base coat is completely dry before sticking the stencils on - I use Seche Vite and let it dry for about 10 minutes).
The summer edition No 7 Gel-Look Shine Nail Colours are £7/10ml each and they are available in Boots stores nationwide and on www.boots.com.
