I have never done an Outfit of the Day post. There are a number of very good reasons for this: 1) I feel so awkward having photos taken of just me (do I smile? Do I not? How should I stand?); 2) I am so not a fashion blogger - I usually catch on to trends just as they're going out of fashion; and 3) since I live alone, I don't have a helpful assistant to take snaps and direct me (heaven knows, you'll see I need some direction). However, I figured I couldn't not have a photo of myself wearing my new Joules Southwold sunglasses in a post about them so when I was at home earlier this week I took a deep breath and roped my mum into being my photographer... be prepared for a rather cheesy-photo-heavy post (and don't worry, I'm not planning any more OOTD posts any time soon!)
This spring Joules brought its first eyewear range exclusively to Vision Express. It's a collection of eyewear just for women, with 32 different hand-crafted styles comprising sunglasses and optical frames for both women and girls. At the launch event we were able to try on all the different frames - and there are some really fun sunglasses, with some really pretty floral prints as well as some more classic pieces. The range is priced from £60 for sunglasses and £149 optical for women, with the girls optical line at £131, or £40 with an NHS voucher.
We were able to choose a pair from the range - and I fell in love with these Southwold* sunglasses which have a dark brown frame with cream edges. I usually struggle to find sunglasses that suit my face (they usually make me look like a fly because apparently I have a small face) but these were definitely my favourite (though the Navy Floral Salcombe ones came a close second) and I've been wearing them whenever the sun has chosen to pop its head out. They're really comfortable (they don't feel too heavy or dig into my nose) and they fit well without slipping down.
The cheesiest of cheesy photos.
