My love for geranium red began when I bought my beautiful spring coat from Zara - 'Raffia' - as seen in my 'Summer Geranium Picks' at the bottom of this post. Geranium red isn't just any old red - it's a fresh, orange-hued red which probably isn't going to suit all skin tones but it seems to work with my dark blonde hair. It would probably look awesome with dark brown, chocolatey hair too. It's perfect for spring/summer because it's bright and even if the sun isn't shining, it can't fail to bring some cheer.
I've also seen quite a few geranium make up products cropping up recently. The first is a summer release from Boots No 7 - BB Lips in Geranium*(£9) which joins the 6 existing colours in the BB Lips range. It's essentially a tinted lip balm which has a lip gloss finish - so it's quite sheer in colour, as you can see in the photos below. It's slightly creamy in formula but it's really moisturising too and the fact that it's SPF 15 as well makes it perfect for dewy summer lips. I've also been really enjoying using the No 7 Stay Perfect Lipstick in Gay Geranium* (£9.75) - which works particularly well when paired with the BB Lips (also shown below). I find that on its own it has a brilliant bright colour and has great lasting power, but it's matte and therefore it's rather drying, so the BB Lips is a welcome addition. (I've also found that with bright colours a lip liner is essential to stop the lipstick bleeding and looking a mess - the Kiko Smart Lip Pencil in 705 (a steal at £2.50) is a perfect match).

I have to give a nod to geranium nails too (how do you feel about matching nails and lips? Yay or nay?) - Models Own have a perfect geranium shade, though they call it Watermelon, which is one of the summer Hypergels. At £5 the Hypergels are some of the best lasting nail polish I've ever used - as much as I try to branch out into other brands, I love their long wear time, easy application, speed of drying and great range of colours.
Since my inspiration for this post really came from my Zara Raffia Coat (£79.99), I thought I'd do a little round up of some great geranium pieces I've found whilst perusing the online shops...
I always wear high heels at work, but don't own a geranium pair so these New Look Red Laser Cut Platforms (£22.99) would look pretty with a plain white dress I have, or some skinny black jeans. I also love a statement necklace so I think this Stella and Dot Sardinia Pendant (£80) is beautiful - and the pendant is detachable so it's basically two necklaces in one: bargain! When I went on my 80s weekender in the Delorean a few weeks ago (see Instagram!), I borrowed my neighbour's vintage jumpsuit and adored how easy it was to wear. I haven't quite been able to get over my new found love for jumpsuits so I'm tempted by this one from ASOS (£40). Since the weather's pretty unpredictable in a British summer, I'm also drawn to these Hunter Short Classic Wellies (£70) - and they'd be so cute if I were the festival type. Lastly, and this is very much on my list of things-I-love-but-could-never-justify-buying, it's the cutest little Mulberry 'Lily' Bright Red Handbag (£750). A girl can dream, right?
Do you own any geranium clothing or make up? Would you think about wearing it?
