Boots No7 Pop and Glow Cream Blush Stick Review

Boots No 7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush

At the #BootsFeelLikeNew event last month some of their spring releases were showcased.  I'm a little late to the game on this one, but I can say that I've had a chance to give these new No 7 Pop & Glow Cream Blush* (£9.95 each) blushers a good go.  First of all the packaging is so cute - I love that they're little chubby sticks which are perfect for popping (how apt) into a handbag, with no need for a brush to go with them.  These were released at first in three colours: Mango Sorbet (peach), Rose Blossom (a light rose) and Classic Rose (a darkish rose) - but they are adding to the line in their summer release (more about this soon!)

I never used to be a blush person; I had no idea how to use it and always thought it looked a little scary - but now I can't go out of the house without it!  These blushes are particularly non-scary as they're so easy to use and not end up looking like Coco the Clown (always a worry for me).  You apply by sweeping (or dabbing) the stick across the cheekbone - if you want a deeper colour, just put a bit more pressure on when you sweep - or do it a couple of times as the colour can be built up easily - then use fingers to blend in at the edges.  The sticks give a subtle fresh pop of colour to the cheeks and when I wear it over my foundation (currently Boots No 7 Stay Perfect Superlight Foundation) it has a dewy finish.  I've found that the wear time is pretty good, but since they're so easy to carry around it's quick to top up the colour if it has faded a little throughout the day.  The lid is a good fit and the stick twists up from the bottom to give more product - but it'll certainly be a while before you have to do that as a little goes a long way!

My overall feeling about these is that I love them - they're fun, great for travel and come in a colour for everyone.  Although I think £9.95 is quite a lot for a blush (admittedly it's really not in comparison with your Bobbi Brown, Benefit or MAC favourites), they will definitely last a really long time so the investment is probably worth it.

  1. These look so pretty. Cream blushes scare me too, but these look so easy and friendly to use! :)
