Before I was asked if I'd like to try out some polishes from the Morgan Taylor Glam Rock collection, I'm afraid I have to admit that I hadn't heard of the brand Morgan Taylor, which has been created by Gelish polish founders Danny Haile and David Daniel. However, I'm always up for trying new polish brands out - and since they're professional quality polishes, even better! The formula is said to be made from raw ingredients which enhance finish, coverage and wear.
The Glam Rock collection is described as a 'mixture of funky metallic shades and glitters to bring out the rebel in you!' There are six polishes in the collection - Better In Leather, Polished Up Punk, Little Misfit, Studs & Stilettos, Pretty Wild and Rebel with a Cause. I have the last two in that list to show you - today it is Pretty Wild (RRP £10.99), a lilacy grey colour, which is (despite what the collection is described as) quite a nice sensible neutral shade which you could get away with wearing at work - though would also look quite 'rock-y' too if you wore it with, say, a leather jacket maybe!
What struck me first about the polish was that the bottle felt heavy and like a serious polish. I'm not sure quite what I mean by that - but I liked the fact that it felt solid in my hand! The formula was smooth and painted on my nails really easily without any streaking, though it did need two coats for it to give a completely opaque covering. It doesn't have what I would call a high-gloss finish, it was slightly matte, so I put a glossy top coat over them (shown below) to enhance the gloss. It dried relatively quickly and had good staying power, which I would expect from a professional quality polish.
My verdict overall? It's certainly at the higher end of the price range I'd be prepared to pay for a polish, particularly as Pretty Wild possibly isn't my favourite colour - BUT it is a really good quality polish with excellent lasting power, so I'd certainly recommend it if you were looking for a dark grey polish. Look out for tomorrow's post on Rebel with a Cause which is a colour I feel completely different about (hint hint it's gorgeous).

Which colours take your fancy? I love the look of Little Misfit from the bottle and am definitely keen to give it a try - though there are frustratingly few swatches of these polishes on the internet from what I can find!
