Clutchspiration: Wedding Guest Nails with Barry M Lychee, Essie Allure and Born Pretty Store Glequins

Potentially taking my 'inspiration' series a bit far with clutchspiration.  Regardless - I'm going to the wedding of two of my best friends, J & B, next weekend which I am so excited about.  I was at university with J for three years and lived with him for a year in London.  When he went away for a couple of months, his then girlfriend B moved into the flat and we've been firm friends ever since.  I think it's probably one of the only weddings I'll ever go to where I know both the bride and groom equally well - and I'm so chuffed that they've asked me to do a reading in the service.

This is what I'll be wearing:

So of course, with outfit sorted, I wanted to plan my nails to make sure that I get them to go perfectly with what I'm going to wear.  I was looking for a cream coloured polish.  My research tells me that these are apparently pretty hard to get hold of.  I found Essie Allure and thought it was the perfect colour - but it was so sheer that even after four coats, I could still see my nail line which wasn't the look I wanted.  I then tried it over Models Own Snow White and it was too stark white.  My next idea was two coats of Barry M Lychee followed by one coat of Essie Allure - and this was the perfect nudey-cream colour I was looking for.  I thought I'd try out some glequins from BornPrettyStore.com on my accent nail - and did a honeycomb design in two lines.  I topped it all with No 7 Stay Perfect Top Coat - which irritatingly bubbled on the accent nail.  I think I need to leave it to dry absolutely completely before putting a second coat on.

What do you think of these nails to go with the outfit?  Do you think I should do honeycomb glequins all over the accent nail or just the two lines like I've done?  Should I do a real outfit post on the actual day (this idea fills me with a bit of fear, admittedly!)?

  1. I would just leave it to the two lines. All over the accent nail might look a bit much x
