So, the formula. I feel I have to say something about it because I think people are going to comment on it - usually Models Own polishes go on super easily and you can be done with about two coats. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to be the case with the Splashes. It's quite a gelatinous formula and the glitter really is chunky - and so the glitter is rather tricky to arrange on the nail. It certainly does sparkle though! In terms of colour, in the bottles the polishes look gorgeously bright... but if you wear them on naked nails with no base colour, they are so sheer that I reckon it's going to be at least 3 coats before you get colour close to the bottles (with the exception of Red Sea). However, I'll save all of that until Saturday when I do proper swatches of them over different bases.
Below I've just done each of the Splashes over their Ice Neon colour counterpart (with the exception of the orange because I don't have the Hed Kandi one, so it's Nails Inc Westbourne Grove). I topped them all with No 7 Stay Perfect (though the glitter is still sticking up even with two top coats!)
Orange - Golden Shore (over Nails Inc Westbourne Grove)
Purple - Mermaid Tears (over Ice Neon Pukka Purple)
Blue - Aqua Splash (over Hed Kandi Balearic Cool)
Pink - Pink Paradise (over Ice Neon Bubblegum)
Have you got any of the Splashes yet? Which is your favourite? Will you be getting some?
