Inspiration Mani: Stars

Last week I was inspired by my washbag to create this rose mani.  This week I took similar inspiration, this time from Cath Kidston's Shooting Star pattern.  [I have to say at this point I'm not up on the whole blog and copyright thing and so I'm not sure if I'm breaking any by painting the design on my nails... if I am, please let me know! (Perhaps I should point out I'm in no way associated with Cath Kidston and I'm not making any money out of this...!)]

I'm becoming a bit of a perfectionist.  Actually, I've always been a bit of one and now it's extending into my nail art, hence why I actually tried this design twice.  The first time I did it I used all Models Own polishes - Snow White (white), Blueberry Muffin (baby blue), Strawberry Tart (baby pink), Jade Stone (baby green), Raspberry Crush (red) and loved how the design came out, but the blue and pink were a bit pale and it wasn't quite like the original Shooting Star pattern.

So I did it again and was really pleased with how similar the second attempt looked to the original pattern.  I used Models Own Snow White (white), Nails inc Notting Hill Carnival (yellow), Essie Cascade Cool (pink), Models Own  in Hed Kandi Balearic Cool (blue), Jade Stone (baby green) and Raspberry Crush (red).  For both designs I used a small nail art paint brush and freehanded the stars (I did both hands, though only photographed my left).
